Why colour is so good for you — and the planet
Lower-impact living needn’t be drab: here’s how to pump up the pantones via your food, fashion, fun trips and disco feet
Welcome to our second ’sletter – we’re pumped there’s already such a crew of you.
Word travels fast, forwarded emails even faster, so a massive thank you to those who’ve already shared it with like-minded friends and fam. It means the world (literally).
Before we dive in, a quick recap on what BRiMM means for you, the first members of our collective.
We’re here to make Planet Positive Living easier
BRiMM’s thing is about showing how living within the earth’s limits doesn’t have to mean living less.
In 2025 we’re launching a new kind of shop and journal, but till then we’ll be hanging in your inbox from 8am every Sunday, ready with a curated drop of Planet Positivity: low-impact things we love from around the world and across our networks, pegged to a fresh theme each time.
This week: colour 🌈
We’re beyond bored of feeling like everything that’s supposed to be good for the planet is dull.
And beige.
And blaah.
Especially in the zone of resource-zapping Black Friday.
So we decided to drench this week’s mail in a kaleidoscope of re-trending tie-dye and technicolour instead.
From how different shades can change your life, to dewy plant-based blushes and balms (*cough* gift idea), to a multi-coloured, generations-old Mexican meal – join us as we embrace the fact that Planet Positive Living is to be lived in the very vividest of colours.
Tune in, team up and let's turn the tide.
Team BRiMM

To seek out a brighter future we need to be seeing clearly – and colourfully, says Leeds University Professor Vien Cheung in this fun research paper.
UK-based beauty brand Seeds of Colour is using fresh tech to extract plant pigments and make these antioxidant-rich cream blushes and colour balms, with shades to suit all.

MUSIC FOR CLIMATE OPTIMISTS
You’re getting to know us. Sure we’ve given a hint of what we’re building. We’ve shared some links. But what music would we play at a party? Well now you know – here’s a playlist from our founder James to rev-up your day.
FROM THE COLLECTIVE
Alex shared this film from The Modern House which got us dreaming of secret houses // Inspired by last week's 'shroom fest, Matt is looking forward to cities made from mushrooms when we all live on Mars // Chris was rocking these sneaks this week and we love them.
We love to hear what our collective is finding. Share your links with Becky
What’s BRiMM again?
We’re building a shop, journal and collective to prove that living within limits isn’t living less – and to put the profit to work for the planet.
